United States President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy traded barbs after Washington moved to ease sanctions on Russian diesel amid Moscow’s continued strikes on Ukraine.
Trump announced Saturday he had called Russian President Vladimir Putin and agreed to allow Moscow to release large amounts of diesel onto global markets.
Ukraine, along with allies including Australia, expressed dismay at the move, with Zelenskyy telling reporters it was a ‘weak decision by strong partners’.

Later in the day, Trump doubled down on his calls for Zelenskyy to face an election while also claiming Zelenskyy ‘could have settled this thing many times’.
